Before you can use the Digital Signage Management plugin, you must configure the plugin role, including the external control settings, font list, and blacklisted phrases.

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool home page, open the Plugins task.
  2. In the Plugins task, select the plugin role from the entity browser, and click the Properties tab.
  3. In the Rest Api section, select Enabled and define a port for the Api to use.
    NOTE: DMS control permissions are required to use the Rest Api.
  4. In the External control section, select Enabled and configure the plugin to create an output command file:
    Write interval
    Interval at which the output command file is updated. The default is 30 seconds.
    File path
    Click Browse to set where the output command file is exported.
    File name
    Enter a name for the output command file. The default is DMSControlOutput.
    File type
    Choose the file type for the output command file: JSON or XML.
    Message text format
    Choose the message text format for the output command file: plain text or MULTI.
  5. Click Apply.
  6. Click the Font list tab and set the plugin font settings:
    1. Click , navigate to the font file on your computer, and click Open.
      The font is listed in the Font library list.
    2. From the Default font list, select a default font.
      Tip: To preview a font on the right-hand display, select a font from the Font library list.
    3. To delete a font, select the font in the Font library list and click .
  7. (Optional) Click the Blacklisted phrases tab, click , and enter your blacklisted phrase.
    NOTE: Blacklisted phrases can be entered as regular expressions. For example, if "a.*d" is set as a blacklisted phrase, any message with a phrase that starts with "a" and ends with "d" is considered a match and blacklisted.
