You can integrate variable message signs into Security Center using the Digital Signage Management plugin by following a sequence of steps.

1 Learn what you can do using the plugin.
2 Before installing the plugin, read the release notes to learn about the new features, the known issues, and the limitations.
3 Learn about the different components and how they connect together.
Prepare your variable message signs
4 Make sure your variable message signs are compatible with the Digital Signage Management plugin.
5 Make sure that your variable message signs are operating as required by your organization, and that all devices are available and operating as expected.

Prepare Security Center
6 Verify that the Security Center license has a valid certificate for the plugin. Go to the Config Tool home page, click About > Certificates, and confirm that Digital Signage Management is in the list.
7 Ensure that the server where the plugin will be installed meets the recommended system requirements and is running a compatible version of Security Center.
Deploy the plugin
8 On a Security Center server, download the plugin and install it.
9 Grant users the privileges that they need to use the plugin.
  • Required privileges.
  • Administrators need the Add roles, Delete roles, and Plugins privileges.
10 In Config Tool, create the Digital Signage Management plugin role.
11 (Optional) Change the plugin configuration to suit your particular needs.
12 Schedule regular cleaning and backing up of the plugin database.
Configure your variable message signs
13 In Config Tool, add your dynamic message signs as DMS entities.
14 Configure your DMS entities' settings.
15 Create messages to activate and display on your variable message signs.
Confirm that the integration works as expected
16 Verify that you see events and alarms in the related Security Center reports.

In Security Desk, generate an Alarm report, Incidents report, and DMS message history report.

Set up your operator workstations
17 Install the plugin on each Security Center client workstation.
NOTE: When the plugin is installed on a Security Center server but not your Security Center slient workstation, the client receives events and alarms, which you can view in the Monitoring task and the event window. However, you cannot see the report tasks or configuration tabs. To see the report tasks and configuration tabs, you must install the plugin on the client workstation.
