Message libraries are an index of available messages. Shared library messages can be activated on any sign, but private library messages can only be activated on a specific sign.

NOTE: Custom messages cannot be managed from message libraries. For more information on custom messages, see Creating custom messages for the Digital Signage Management plugin.

Shared library messages

Shared library messages are messages that can be activated on any sign. They are managed through the Shared library messages tab of the Security Center Digital Signage Management plugin role.

Private library messages

Private library messages are messages that can only be activated on an associated DMS entity's sign. They are managed through the Messages tab of the associated DMS entity.
  • Private library messages inherit their sign's display settings, including their color scheme, default colors, default justification, and maximum number of pages.
  • In a DMS entity's private library, shared library messages are displayed as greyed out. They cannot be edited from within a DMS entity.
  • To remove a category from the sign's available messages in the Security Desk DMS Dashboard, navigate to the Library messages section and clear the box next to the category name.
