To receive notifications regarding fleet health conditions, you must configure fleet health definitions and notifications.

What you should know

The Fleet health task is an operation task that shows the status of your AVL units and their associated entities, such as cameras, Archiver, and GPS units. Use it to identify where to direct maintenance.

Procedure

To configure fleet health definitions:

  1. From the Config Tool home page, open the Plugins task.
  2. In the Plugins task, select the plugin role from the entity browser, and click the Fleet health tab.
  3. (Optional) to populate the list of fleet health fault definitions with the default configurations, click Add default configuration and modify or remove definitions as needed.
  4. From the Fleet health fault definitions tab, click Add () and define the following:
    1. Fault type: define the fault as major or minor. Or, define the fault as OK, which indicates no fault but still sends out a notification.
    2. Rule name: assign a name to the new rule.
    3. Click Add () and define the following:
      From the Add matadata value match rule window, define the following:
      Key type
      Choose a Health, Regex (regular expression), or Text comparison.
      • If you selected Health, define an entity type, health key, and value.
      • If you selected Regex, or Text do the following:
        • Key regex: define a key for the value match rule
        • Comparison type:
          • If you selected Numeric, define a mathematical comparison and a value.
          • If you selected Regex, enter a Regex value.
          • If you selected Time, define a time period for use in the comparison.
      To edit an existing value match rule, select the rule and click edit (). To delete a value match rule, click delete ().
    4. Define whether all, or just one, of the value match rules are required to trigger the notification.
      NOTE: These rules determine what is or is not a fault, are used to show faults in the Fleet health task, and can be used to send notifications.

To configure fleet health notifications:

  1. From the Fleet health notifications section in the Fleet health tab, click Add ().
    The Add fleet health notification window appears.
  2. Click edit () and select the users you need.
  3. Select the check boxes as needed to define the fleet health notification details for these users.
  4. Click Apply.
