You can configure custom attributes to display data associated with specific AVL units. Use custom attributes to show data not covered by existing Fleet Monitoring configuration options.

What you should know

Depending on use case, custom attributes can be used to indicate details such as the following:
Example:
  • Type of bus associated with the AVL unit
  • Year of vehicle manufacture
  • Type of police vehicle involved

Procedure

  1. From Config Tool, navigate to the Area view task.
  2. Select the AVL unit you want to define custom attributes for and click the Attributes tab.
  3. In the Custom attributes section, click Add ().
  4. In the Key field, enter a key that triggers the value to appear in the real-time AVL unit tile stack as seen in the Monitoring task. The value also appears in the route playback, and offline route playback tasks.
  5. In the Value field, enter the value that you want to appear in the real-time AVL unit tile stack as seen in the Monitoring task. The value also appears in the route playback, and offline route playback tasks.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click Apply.
