You can configure an event-to-action to allow the Security Center Incident Snapshots Generator plugin to automatically detect and trigger incidents based on Security Center events.

Before you begin

Ensure you have the required Incidents snapshots monitoring privilege.

What you should know

An event-to-action links an action to a particular event. For example, you can configure Security Center to trigger incident snapshot generation when a door is forced open.

Procedure

  1. Open the System task, and click the General settings view.
  2. Click the Actions page.
  3. Click Add an item ().
  4. From the When drop-down list in the Event-to-action dialog box, select an event type.
    1. (Optional: Custom events only) If you select a custom event, you can specify a text string in the and field, which must be included in the macro that triggers the event-to-action.
  5. In the From option, click Any entity, and then select an entity that triggers the event.
By default, the event-to-action occurs when any entity triggers the event type you select. If you select a specific entity, then you might have to set other parameters (for example, if you select a door, then you must also select a door side).
  6. From the Action drop-down list, select Trigger incident snapshots.
  7. Configure the following parameters:
    Incident snapshot plugin
If your system has multiple plugins, select the one responsible for generating and uploading your incident snapshots.
    Bank branch
Select the bank branch from which you want to trigger incident snapshots.
NOTE: The bank branch must have associated cameras to generate snapshots.
    Incident type
Select the type of incident that you want to trigger snapshots for.
NOTE: The selected incident type is used in the upload file name.
    Description
Enter a short description to be used as the upload header.
    Time limit
Enter the incident duration in minutes.
    Clearance required
Select the Clearance required checkbox to require the operator to give clearance before the incident is uploaded.
NOTE: Clearance is required by default.
  8. In the Effective option, click Always, and select a schedule when this event-to-action is active.
If the event occurs outside of the defined schedule, then the action is not triggered. For example, you might want to sound an alarm only when a window is opened during the weekend. By default, Always is selected.
  9. (Optional) Enable the Use source time zone option to configure the schedule's start and end using the time zone of the source entity's server.
NOTE: This option is only available for cameras, video units, access control units, and doors.
Event-to-action dialog box with a "trigger incident snapshots" action configured for a door forced open event.
  10. Click Save.
The Save button is only available when all the arguments required by the event-to-action type are specified.

Results

The new event-to-action is added to the list of system actions.
