Security Center 5.11.3.0 includes the following video enhancements.
General enhancements
- Cloud Archives plugin replaced by Cloud Storage
- The Cloud Archives plugin is now considered obsolete. Users should migrate to Cloud Storage, which is built into Security Center and offers a more robust integration for storing video in the cloud. With the release of Security Center 5.11.3, Cloud Archives becomes a read-only plugin. This means that users can retrieve and play back previously uploaded video, but are prevented from using the plugin to upload new video. To migrate from the Cloud Archives plugin to Cloud Storage, contact your Genetec representative.
- Custom settings for Archiver servers
- To conserve disk space if your system has limited storage, you can now configure different archiving and retention settings for each server assigned to an Archiver role. You can either disable recording or reduce the retention period on each additional server used for failover. For more information on how to configure these settings, see Configuring different retention periods for each Archiver.
- Delete cameras and associated video archives privilege
- As an added protection for your video archives, a new privilege controls whether archives can be deleted when a user deletes a camera.
- Warning when videos are deleted before being uploaded to Cloud Storage
- The Archiver diagnostic window now displays warnings when video is deleted before being uploaded to the cloud. These warnings notify you to immediately investigate and take action to prevent further data loss. For more information, see Best practices for Cloud storage.
