To simplify having a report generated and saved to a file location, you can create a manual action.

Before you begin

Save the task that you want to generate and export as a public task. It should include the query filters that you want applied, and the report columns you want to include. For more information, see Saving tasks in Security Center.

What you should know

  • The settings for reports that are generated and saved using an action are configured in the Properties page of the Report Manager role. This includes the maximum number of report results that can be saved in PDF or Excel format. The is no limit for CSV format. It also includes the destination folder for saved reports.
  • You need the Single user print/export privilege to perform this operation.

Procedure

  1. In the notification tray, click Hot actions ().
  2. In the Hot actions dialog box, click Manual action.
  3. In the Configure an action dialog box, click the Action list and select Export report.
  4. From the Report list, select the report that was saved as a public task.
  5. From the What to export options, select Data.
  6. From the Data list, select Excel, CSV, or PDF.
  7. To export charts with your data, select the Charts option.
When you export charts alongside CSV data, it respects the maximum number of report results set in the Performance section of the Options dialog box in Security Center.
  8. (PDF only) From the Orientation list, select Portrait or Landscape.
  9. (Optional) To overwrite a report that was previously exported to the destination folder, select the Overwrite existing file option.
  10. Click OK.

Results

The report is saved in the location that you specified.
