The maximum number of report results you can obtain depends on how you generate the report, whether it includes images, and the format you choose for viewing.
Manual reports
Manual reports are generated from Security Desk or Config Tool by clicking Generate report in a reporting task. These reports are limited to a maximum of 50,000 results, regardless of whether they contain images. For performance reasons, you can choose to lower this limit. You can do this by setting the Maximum number of results on the Performance page in the Options dialog box. By default, this value is set to 500. Automated reports
The Report Manager role generates automated reports through automations, event-to-actions, scheduled tasks, or hot actions. They involve the use of either the Email a report or Export report action. The maximum number of results depends on the selected output format (CSV, Excel, or PDF) and whether the report includes images. For more information, see Using a manual action to generate and export reports.
For performance reasons, the system administrator can configure a lower limit than the maximum allowed. This is done by setting the Maximum number of results in the Report Manager role's Properties page. By default, this value is set to 5,000.
Exceptions
Reports generated manually using the Generate and save report button or the Incident report task are not subject to any custom limits.

1 Approximately one third of the reports do not support the generate and save option. The following is a partial list: Alarm report, Archives, Incidents, Activity trails, Audit trails, Hardware inventory, Unified report, and so on. However, most investigative reports support the generate and save option.
2 This custom limit applies to all reports saved in Excel and PDF formats, but only to one third of the reports saved in CSV format. The reports bound by this custom limit are those that do not support the generate and save option (see footnote 1). For the other two thirds of the reports, mostly investigative reports, the number of results is unlimited.
