You can configure the metadata properties for vehicle end Security Center Vehicle Monitoring plugin roles to bookmark and protect videos, raise events, and configure metadata triggers.

Before you begin

Federate your vehicle system.

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool home page, open the Plugins task.
  2. In the Plugins task, select the Vehicle Monitoring plugin role from the entity browser and click the Metadata tab.
  3. Optional: If you wish to raise an event upon a change in metadata, activate the Raise events on metadata change setting.
    1. In the Raise events on metadata unchanged section, define a time period after which an event is raised even if no change in metadata has occurred.
  4. Optional: If you have discrete inputs configured for the vehicle and want to periodically log inputs as metadata, select the Periodically log input as metadata check box and configure the time interval. By default, the plugin logs inputs every 30 seconds.
  5. Optional: If you have discrete inputs configured for the vehicle and want to discard inputs if they surpass a time interval, select the Don't log inputs if older than box and configure the time interval. By default, the plugin discards inputs older than 10 minutes.
  6. In the Default metadata configuration section, click Add ().
    The Add metadata configuration window opens.
  7. In the Metadata key field, enter the metadata key.
  8. In the Triggers section, click Add (), and add one or more triggers:
    1. From the Trigger type drop-down list, select one of the following:
      • Numeric: Metadata values are numeric.
      • Regular expression: Metadata values are
    2. From the Comparison drop-down list, select how the metadata must be compared to the value.
    3. In the Value field, enter the value that the metadata is compared to.
    4. Click OK.
  9. (Optional) Configure additional actions for when a metadata match occurs:
    Metadata matches can also be tied to alarms, event-to-actions, incidents, and so on.
    1. To raise a GPS metadata match event, select the Raise event check box.
    2. To bookmark video, select the Bookmark video check box.
    3. To protect video, select the Protect video check box.
  10. Click OK.
  11. Click Apply.
