When adding DTC Communications NETH264ENC encoders in Security Center, you must select a Product type.

Before you begin

Configure the encoder in the unit's web page.

What you should know

The Product type you choose and the settings you enter when adding the unit are based on the streaming protocol selected on the unit’s web page.

Procedure

To add a DTC Communications NETH264ENC encoder using UDP Multicast:

  1. From the Video task in Config Tool, select the Archiver you want to add the unit to.
  2. Click Add an entity () > Video unit .
  3. In the Manufacturer field, select Cobham.
  4. From the Product type drop-down menu select NETH264ENC (ReadOnly Multicast).
  5. In the IP address field, enter the multicast address.
  6. In the HTTP port field, enter the Stream Port that was configured for Stream 1 on the unit’s web page.
  7. Fill out the rest of the fields, and click Add.
  8. Once the unit is added, select it in the entity tree then click the Properties tab.
  9. Beside Video mode, choose the same mode configured on the unit’s web page.
    If you selected H.264 Dual SD on the unit's web page, then select H.264 as the Video mode.
  10. Click Apply.

To add a Cobham NETH264ENC encoder using UDP Unicast:

  1. From the Video task in Config Tool, select the Archiver you want to add the unit to.
    IMPORTANT: The Archiver must have the same IP address that was specified on the unit’s web page.
  2. Click Add an entity () > video unit.
  3. In the Manual add dialog box beside Manufacturer, select Cobham.
  4. From the Product type drop-down menu, select NETH264ENC (ReadOnly Unicast).
  5. In the IP address field, enter the IP address of the unit.
  6. In the HTTP port field, enter the Stream Port that was configured for Stream 1 on the unit’s web page.
  7. Fill out the rest of the fields, and click Add.
  8. Once the unit is added, select it in the entity tree then click the Properties tab.
  9. Beside Video mode, choose the same mode configured on the unit’s web page.
    If you selected H.264 Dual SD on the unit's web page, then select H.264 as the Video mode.
  10. Click Apply.

To add a Cobham NETH264ENC encoder using RTSP/RTP Unicast:

  1. From the Video task in Config Tool, select the Archiver you want to add the unit to.
  2. Click Add an entity () > video unit.
  3. In the Manual add dialog box beside Manufacturer, select Cobham.
  4. From the Product type drop-down menu select NETH264ENC.
  5. Fill out the rest of the fields, and click Add.
    Use the default HTTP port (80).
