To use the DTC NETH264ENC encoder in Security Center, you must perform additional configuration steps on the unit’s web page before adding the unit in Security Center.

Procedure

  1. Open the unit's web page.
  2. Click the Configuration tab.
  3. In the Unit Config section in the Overview tab, select H.264 Dual SD or MPEG4.
    H.264 SD/HD + Audio is not supported.
  4. Configure Stream 1 and Stream 2 as follows:
    1. Set Encoder Select to Encoder 1.
    2. Set Network Select to Ethernet O.
  5. Configure Stream 3 and Stream 4 as follows:
    1. Set Encoder Select to Encoder 2.
    2. Set Network Select to Ethernet O.
      NOTE: The transmission protocol for each stream must be the same. This determines which Product type you choose when adding the unit to Security Center.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Click the Streaming tab, and select the Streaming Protocol for each stream.
    The Streaming Protocol must be the same for all four streams.
    NOTE: RTSP/ RTP Multicast is not supported.
  8. Set the Multicast Address and Stream Port for each stream as follows:
    • If you chose UDP Multicast as your Streaming Protocol:
      1. Enter the Multicast Address for each stream. It must be the same for all streams.
      2. Enter the Stream Port for each stream. It must increase by increments of 200. For example, if you set the Stream Port to 14200 on the Stream 1 tab, the Stream Port must be set to 14400 on the Stream 2 tab.
    • If you chose UDP Unicast:
      1. In the Unicast Address 1 field, enter the IP address of the server that hosts the Security Center Archiver.
      2. Enter the Stream Port for each stream. It must increase by increments of 200. For example, if you set the Stream Port to 14200 on the Stream 1 tab, the Stream Port must be set to 14400 on the Stream 2 tab.
    • If you chose RTSP/RTP Unicast, there is no extra configuration necessary. The default port (80) is used.
  9. Save each stream.
