To use the Large RTP packets feature in Security Center, additional configuration is required.

What you should know

You can configure the size of the packets requested from the camera. Reducing the number of RTP packets needed to reconstruct a video frame increases streaming quality, especially for high resolutions.
NOTE: Axis does not support Large RTP packets when the connection type is multicast.

Procedure

  1. From the Video task in Config Tool, select the Axis camera to configure.
  2. Click the Video tab.
  3. In Network settings, set Large RTP packets to ON.
  4. Click () and set the Maximum transmission unit to define the size of the RTP packets sent by the camera.
    The default maximum RTP packet size is 1400 bytes.
