To view and dewarp video images in Security Desk that were captured using a Vivotek fisheye camera lens, you must configure the lens in Config Tool.

Before you begin

If you are using a Vivotek FE8171V unit, then manually enable watermarking on the unit.

What you should know

Dewarping allows you to zoom in on a 360-degree image, similar to the digital zoom feature in Security Desk. The zoomed image is dewarped, or flattened to show a rectangular image.

Procedure

  1. From the Video task in Config Tool, select the camera to configure.
  2. Click the Hardware tab.
  3. From the Lens type list, make sure Vivotek is selected.
  4. Click Edit ().
  5. In the Configure lens dialog box, do the following:
    1. Select the Camera position.
    2. To set the center position of the fisheye, drag the left mouse button.
    3. To adjust the radius of the fisheye, drag the right mouse button.
NOTE: The blue region represents the area that can be dewarped in a Security Desk tile.
  6. Click OK > Apply.

After you finish

For your changes to take effect, remove the camera from all Security Desk tiles, and then re-add the camera.
