Controlling the bitrate with firmware 5.6 and greater - Security Center 5.12.2.0

Bitrate is controlled differently for Axis cameras running on firmware 5.6 and greater. It uses the maximum bit rate as a variable bit rate with limits.

1. Select the camera from the Video task in Config Tool.
2. Click the Video tab.
3. Set the Maximum allowed bit rate to the desired value.
   NOTE: When the Maximum allowed bit rate is set to 0, the bit rate is unlimited. Priorities do not need to be set when the bit rate is unlimited.
4. Set the Bit rate priority to one of:
   • Frame rate.
   • Image quality.
   • None.
