When an HTTPS unit is added with a hostname, the hostname is used to communicate to the unit.
When in HTTPS, the hostname is always used to communicate with the unit and to validate the
certificate’s subject name. If the Archiver is unable to resolve the hostname used, it ties to
connect using the last known IP address.
NOTE: if the hostname points to an invalid IP
address, it is used and the connection to the unit fails.
In HTTP, the hostname is used to resolve the unit's IP address unless the Allow hostname address resolution option is cleared in an Axis unit or if UseDNS is added to the extension's advanced settings with value "0" for the other extensions.
