Product types define the type of video unit from a manufacturer that you are adding to Security Center. For Bosch units, this can refer to a specific model or a camera that uses a particular Common Product Platform (CPP).
Applying a product type to a video unit
When you add a video unit to Security Center, you must select a product type. Available product types vary depending on your version of Security Center. For more information, see Adding a video unit manually.
Video units and corresponding product types
You must select a product type that corresponds to the unit model or the CPP version used by the unit. To find the CPP version of a video unit, open its web page and go to
.Bosch video unit | Product type |
---|---|
DIVAR | Divar |
NWX-0900 | NWC-0900 Megapixel |
Units running CPP version 7.3 or earlier | Legacy (CPP7.3 and older) |
Units running CPP version 13 or later | Other (CPP13 and newer) |
Product types and corresponding extensions
When you add a video unit in Security Center, the Archiver automatically creates an extension. If you add a Bosch unit that uses the Other (CPP13 and newer) product type, the Archiver creates a Generic Plus extension. If you add a Bosch unit that uses any other product type, the Archiver creates a Bosch extension.
