Although AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) is supported on all Panasonic cameras that have the capability, there are certain limitations you should familiarize yourself with.
When a Panasonic camera that supports AAC is newly added to Security Center, the default audio codec selected is AAC.
- Sampling rate and bit rate cannot be changed.
- Only the following connection types are available:
a Requires at least one active H.264 or MPEG-4 stream.
Unit connection type AAC G.721 Unicast UDP Same as unita
RTSP over TCP
Same as unita
Multicast Same as unit Unicast TCP None (MJPEG only) RTSP over TCP Unicast TCP
- When changing the codec in the Microphone properties dialog box, the connection type is not immediately updated. The update occurs only after the changes are applied and the dialog box is re-opened.
- Live audio does not work when the AAC is used in multicast.
