You must complete several pre-configuration steps to prepare your camera units for integration with Security Center.


  1. Open the unit's web page and click Admin Menu.
  2. Click System Update > Update System Software, and install the latest software on the camera.
  3. Click Configuration > Reset configuration to factory defaults, to restore the default factory settings on the camera.
  4. Click Security > Users and Passwords, to add a username that will be used when adding the unit in Security Center (for example SecurityCenterUser).
  5. Click Security > Group Access Control Lists to assign the user to the admins group. This ensures that the live stream of the camera can be viewed in Security Center
  6. Click Network Setup > Web Server, and set the authentication mode of the web server to Digest or Auto.
  7. Click Camera Administration > Integration Protocols, and do the following:
    1. Enable the MxPEG Stream 1, the Genetecâ„¢ Protocol integration protocol, and the audio stream. If required, enable additional streams.
    2. Select the Enable Audio option for the MxPEG Stream 1.
    3. Disable ONVIF.
      For cameras with x16/26 series and firmware of or higher, audio and video streams are enabled by default.
  8. Click Audio and VoIP Telephony > Speaker and Microphone, to activate the microphone and speaker.
  9. In the unit's web page, click Setup Menu.
  10. Click Image Control > General Image Settings to set the image size (resolution and aspect ratio), display mode, JPEG quality, frame rate, and other camera settings.
    The list of available resolutions for the camera in Security Center depends on the resolution and aspect ratio of the live stream configured on the unit's web page.
  11. Click Event Control > Recording: Arming = Off to disable recording on the unit, so you can configure the recording settings in Security Center.
  12. Store changes and reboot the camera:
    1. Click Admin Menu > Configuration > Store, to store all the changed settings.
    2. Click Admin Menu > General Tasks > Reboot the camera, to reboot.
