Because your access control units and video units might be in different locations and across multiple time zones, you can configure Web Client to display the times shown in reports and on the video time line in your local time or a specific time zone. This allows you to view events as if they were in your time zone (local) or as if you were in the time zone of the event (specific), which makes it easier to understand the context of a situation.

The time and date of an event is saved according to the location of the entity (camera, door, server, etc.) that recorded the event. All times are saved by Security Center in UTC format.

You can configure Web Client to display the times as your local time or as the time of a specific time zone.

You are located in Montreal (UTC-05:00). You have Web Client set to use the local time of your computer. You monitor a system located in Halifax, Nova Scotia (UTC-04:00). Activity is detected at a door in Halifax at 09:00 A.M. (UTC-4:00). At the end of the day, you create a report of door activity from 7 A.M. to 5 P.M. In your report, the activity for the door in Halifax displays as 8:00 A.M. (Montreal time).
