From Security Center Web Client, you can prevent all access through a door by deactivating (shunting) the reader.

What you should know

Not all readers can be disabled from Security Center Web Client. The ability to shunt a reader depends on your access control equipment. Shunting a reader is equivalent to cutting the power to the reader. For this reason, a cardholder presenting a valid credential at the door would no longer be able to unlock the door. This however does not prevent someone from unlocking the door with a key.

  1. Log on to Web Client.
  2. From the main menu, select the Monitoring task.
  3. Click the Area view ( ) tab and find the door with the reader you want to shunt.
  4. Drag the door to a monitoring tile.
  5. Click Settings ).
  6. In the Door settings dialog box, select the reader side you want to shunt.
  7. Click Save.

The reader is now disabled, preventing access from that side.
