You must connect the SiPass plugin role to the SiPass server. You can also assign recipients to newly imported SiPass alarms.

Before you begin

Create the plugin role.

What you should know

The recipients on the SiPass Properties page are only applied the first time an alarm is added to Security Center. If you need to change the recipients of existing SiPass alarms, go to the Alarms task, and make the changes for each alarm entity, as described in Changing assigned recipients of SiPass alarms.

Procedure

  1. From the home page in Config Tool, open the Plugins task.
  2. In the entity browser pane, select the SiPass plugin, and then click the Properties tab.
  3. In the Host field, enter the hostname or IP address of the SiPass server.
  4. In the Port field, enter the port number used to communicate with the SiPass server.
The default port number is 5645. It must be unblocked on your network.
IMPORTANT: If you change the port number here, you must also change it on the SiPass server.
  5. In Alarm recipients, select the users or user groups to notify when a SiPass alarm occurs.
NOTE: If this list is empty, alarms will still be triggered in Security Center, but no user will be notified.
  6. In Alarm partitions, select the partitions to which the alarm entities will be added when created by the plugin.
Alarms created by the plugin will always be members of the those partitions. Partitions added through the Alarms task will be removed by the plugin if you modify Alarm partitions again.
  7. Click Apply.

Results

The SiPass entities are synchronized in Security Center and are added under the SiPass plugin in the entity browser. Alarm entities and custom events are also created to map those reported by SiPass.
NOTE: The time required for synchronization varies depending on how many entities must be synchronized.

Example

This shows the basic configuration in the Properties tab that allows the plugin role to connect to the SiPass server and have alarms sent to specific users.
