Supported configurations for the SVA-100E and SV-100E series

These Streamvault™ appliance series support various deployment scenarios for video-only systems, and for unified video and access control systems, both with or without remote viewing from the Genetec™ Mobile application on your smartphone.

The configuration of your Streamvault™ appliance deployment determines the maximum number of cameras you can install, and the maximum video quality that can be configured for those cameras. Above this maximum video quality, problems might occur with recording video and viewing live and recorded video streams."

Video only deployment using Mobile Server for remote monitoring

When using a Streamvault™ appliance to record video and monitor video remotely using the Genetec™ Mobile application, the following maximum configuration is supported:
  • Sixteen cameras recording at 2 Mbps per camera, for a maximum of 32 Mbps of traffic on the network
  • Sixteen video streams redirected at 2 Mbps per stream
  • Five video streams transcoded to five mobile devices, using a remote stream configured to a default value of 8 fps 640 x 480

The following requirements must be met:

  • Software motion detection must be deactivated.
  • Each camera must support at least two streams.
NOTE: If you require motion detection, activate it on the camera or video encoder.

Video only deployment using Mobile Server for local monitoring

When a Streamvault™ appliance is used to record video and monitor video locally using the Genetec™ Mobile application, the following maximum configuration is supported:
  • Sixteen cameras recording at 2 Mbps per camera, for a maximum of 32 Mbps of traffic on the network
  • Five video streams transcoded to five mobile devices, using a remote stream configured to a default value of 8 fps 640 x 480

The following requirements must be met:

  • IP cameras or encoders must connect to a network switch on the same IP network as the appliance.
  • Software motion detection must be deactivated.

The following configuration is recommended:

  • Dynamic stream selection is enabled for cameras that support multi-streaming.

The number of video streams that the appliance can display locally depends on the video stream quality (resolution, frame rate, bit rate) configured for H.264 cameras. The following table shows several scenarios:

Resolution 5 fps 15 fps 30 fps
640 x 480 16 cameras at 600 Kbps 16 cameras at 1200 Kbps 8 cameras at 2000 Kbps
1280 x 720 16 cameras at 700 Kbps 9 cameras at 1500 Kbps 4 cameras at 2500 Kbps
1920 x 1080 15 cameras at 1200 Kbps 5 cameras at 3000 Kbps 3 cameras at 3000 Kbps
NOTE: On average, a camera configured at 4CIF 30 fps in H.264 has a bit rate of 1 Mbps.

Unified deployment using Mobile Server for remote monitoring

When using a Streamvault™ appliance for access control and to record and monitor camera video remotely from a Genetec™ Mobile, the following maximum number of devices and video streams are supported:
  • Sixteen cameras recording at 2 Mbps per camera, for a maximum of 32 Mbps of traffic on the network
  • Sixteen readers
  • Sixteen video streams redirected at 2 Mbps per stream
  • Five video streams transcoded to five mobile devices

The following requirement must be met:

  • Software motion detection must be deactivated.

Unified deployment using Mobile Server for local monitoring

When using a Streamvault™ appliance for access control and to record and monitor camera video locally from a Genetec™ Mobile, the following maximum number of devices and video streams are supported:
  • Sixteen cameras recording at 2 Mbps per camera, for a maximum of 32 Mbps of traffic on the network
  • Sixteen readers
  • Five video streams transcoded to five mobile devices

The following requirements must be met:

  • IP cameras or encoders must connect to a network switch on the same IP network as the appliance.
  • Software motion detection must be deactivated.
The number of video streams that a Streamvault™ all-in-one appliance is able to decode locally depends on the video stream quality (resolution, frame rate, bit rate). The following table shows several scenarios:
Resolution 5 fps 15 fps 30 fps
640 x 480 16 cameras at 600 Kbps 11 cameras at 1200 Kbps 5 cameras at 2000 Kbps
1280 x 720 16 cameras at 700 Kbps 5 cameras at 1500 Kbps 2 cameras at 2500 Kbps
1920 x 1080 7 cameras at 1200 Kbps 1 cameras at 3000 Kbps 1 cameras at 3000 Kbps

Supported configurations in SV-300E and SV-300E-T4 series

The SV-300E and SV-300E-T4 series support various video configurations when the client application is local or remote from the Streamvault™ appliance.

Server-only mode: remote video monitoring

The SV-300E and SV-300E-T4 series can host the Directory and Archiver role simultaneously with remote video monitoring. In this scenario, the appliance supports the following maximum configuration:
  • Up to 100 cameras
  • Recording H.264 at 2 Mbps per camera
  • Live monitoring from an external workstation using multicast

Client server mode: local video monitoring

When a client application is installed locally, the SV-300E and SV-300E-T4 series support the following configurations for H.264 streaming:

Resolution 5 fps 15 fps 30 fps
640 x 480 32 cameras at 600 Kbps 26 cameras at 1200 Kbps 13 cameras at 2000 Kbps
1280 x 720 32 cameras at 700 Kbps 17 cameras at 1500 Kbps 8 cameras at 2500 Kbps
1920 x 1080 24 cameras at 1200 Kbps 8 cameras at 3000 Kbps 5 cameras at 3000 Kbps

Supported access control configurations in SV-300E and SV-300E-T4 series
