Synergis™ Cloud Link is an intelligent PoE-enabled IoT gateway designed to address the demand for a non-proprietary access control solution. Synergis™ Cloud Link provides native support for a wide variety of intelligent controllers and electronic locks.

Synergis™ Cloud Link and accessories can be housed inside an enclosure that are part of a Synergis™ IP access control system.
  Hardware feature What you should know
A RS-485 Four embedded RS-485 communication ports (or channels) named A, B, C, and D. The number of interface modules you can connect to each channel depends on the type of hardware you have. In configurations where interface modules only use an IP connection, the four RS-485 ports are not needed.
NOTE: When you start an RS-485 bus from the Synergis™ Cloud Link for module or OSDP reader communication, you must turn on the associated termination DIP switch on the Synergis™ Cloud Link. Also set the termination jumper or 120 Ohm resistor on the last connected module or OSDP reader on the RS-485 bus.
B USB1 and USB2 For maintenance use.
NOTE: This connection was not evaluated by UL. Do not use it if UL Listed compliance for access control systems is required and is to be maintained.
C LAN1 and LAN2 Two Ethernet LAN ports are provided for connection to the IP network.

Synergis™ Cloud Link can be powered using an Ethernet connection (PoE).

NOTE: Connecting to Security Center through the LAN 2 port was not evaluated by UL and is for supplementary use only.a
D Status LEDs Synergis™ Cloud Link LED feedback.
E Power Connect Synergis™ Cloud Link to an external 12 VDC (nominal) power supply.
F Code DIP switches Set a command code with the DIP switches, and run the command by holding the EC button for 1 second. If the code is valid, the status LEDs will flash green for the process of the command, otherwise they flash red for one second. Synergis™ Cloud Link automatically performs a software restart after you have run a command.

G Service port Internal use only.
H DEP. IND. Deported indicators were not evaluated by UL, and are not to be used if UL Listed compliance for access control systems is required and is to be maintained.
I Monitoring inputs Inputs that you can use for different monitoring purposes. For example, you can connect a tamper switch to one of these inputs to monitor the Synergis™ Cloud Link enclosure or use the inputs to monitor AC fail and Battery fail events.
NOTE: Input 1 can be supervised. Input supervision is not configurable for Input 2 and Input 3.

The wiring of the inputs is limited to within the same room for ULC-S319 compliant installations, or a maximum distance of 98.5 ft (30 m) for UL 294 compliant installations.

For ULC-S319 compliant installations, Input 1 must be used with shielded wire. The shield of the cable must be connected to ground, either by using one of the shield (S) pins of the RS-485 ports or by connecting it to one of the mounting screws on the legs of the Synergis™ Cloud Link. If you use a mounting screw, install a ring terminal in the drain wire to ensure proper grounding.

J Mounting holes Use the mounting holes on the legs of the Synergis™ Cloud Link appliance to secure it to a mounting surface with screws.

a For ULC-S319 compliant installations where Mercury controllers are located in a separate enclosure from the Synergis™ Cloud Link, communication cabling must be completely shielded. The network cabling used for communication with the controllers through the Synergis™ Cloud Link's LAN1 or LAN2 port must be CAT5e (shielded twisted pair) or better. This applies to all involved cabling segments between the Synergis™ Cloud Link and the network switch, and between the network switch and the Mercury controllers.
