Ensure that you have sufficient space on your Synergis™ appliance before installing updates or new firmware. You can verify how much space is available and perform storage cleanups on your appliance from the Storage page of the Synergis™ Appliance Portal.

What you should know

The Storage page is available starting in Synergis™ Softwire 11.2.2. Different cleanup options are available on the Storage page, depending on the production image version of your appliance. You can find the production image version and the Synergis Softwire version on the System status page of the Synergis Appliance Portal.
IMPORTANT: While a cleanup is in progress, firmware updates and system restarts are blocked on the Synergis™ Cloud Link appliance.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Synergis unit.
  2. Click Maintenance > Storage.
Storage and Cleanup sections on the Storage page of the Synergis Appliance Portal.
  3. Select one or both of the following cleanup options:
    General and temporary storage cleanup
This option is available on all production images. When you start this cleanup, the Desktop and Downloads folders for all existing users, and files pertaining to previously installed versions of Synergis Softwire are deleted.
    Platform update cleanup
This option is only available starting in production image 4.0. When you start this cleanup, a Windows command is run to reduce the size of the WinSxS folder. This cleanup can take several hours.
Delete SCP log and archived SCL logs
This option only applies to legacy Synergis Cloud Link (SCL) units with production image 4.0 and later. This cleanup deletes all SCP and SCL logs stored on the unit.
  4. Click Start cleanup.
