Ensure that you have sufficient space on your Synergis™ appliance before installing updates or new firmware. You can verify how much space is available and perform storage cleanups on your appliance from the Storage page of the Synergis™ Appliance Portal .

What you should know

Different cleanup options are available on the Storage page, depending on the production image version of your appliance. You can find the production image version and the Synergis Softwire version on the System status page of the Synergis Appliance Portal.
IMPORTANT: While a cleanup is in progress, firmware updates and system restarts are blocked on the Synergis appliance.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Synergis unit.
  2. Click Maintenance > Storage.
    Storage and Cleanup sections on the Storage page of the Synergis Appliance Portal.
  3. Select the following:
    General and temporary storage cleanup
    When you start this cleanup, the Desktop and Downloads folders for all existing users, and files pertaining to previously installed versions of Synergis Softwire are deleted.
    Platform update cleanup
    This option is only available starting in production image 4.0. When you start this cleanup, a Windows command is run to reduce the size of the WinSxS folder. This cleanup can take several hours.
    Delete archived and obsolete logs
    When you start this cleanup, archived and obsolete Synergis Softwire logs are deleted.
    Delete Mercury SCP logs
    When you start this cleanup, all archived Mercury SCP logs are deleted.
  4. Click Start cleanup.
