If you’re unable to connect to the Synergis™ Cloud Link appliance using its hostname and you haven’t configured its IP address yet, use its fixed alternate IP address.

Before you begin

Try logging on using the appliance’s hostname.

What you should know

  • The Synergis Cloud Link appliance's fixed alternate IP address for the LAN1 port is 172.16.20.11 /24.
  • The default username and password are admin and softwire. You’re forced to create a new password on the first logon.
IMPORTANT: All Synergis Cloud Link appliances are configured in factory to respond to the same fixed IP address. Never enroll a Synergis Cloud Link appliance in Security Center using this fixed alternate IP address.

Procedure

  1. Open a web browser.
  2. In the browser's address bar, enter https://172.16.20.11.
    You get a certificate error message.
  3. Follow your browser’s on-screen instructions to continue to the website.
  4. Enter the username and password, and then click Log on.
    If you already changed the default password, the homepage is displayed. If you haven’t changed the default password, you’re forced to create a new one before logging on.
  5. Enter a new Strong or Very strong password, confirm it, and then click Change password.
    NOTE: The password must be at least 15 characters long.

    The password is updated for the user, and you must log on using the new password.
