Synergis™ IX

To connect the Synergis™ IX controllers to the Synergis™ Cloud Link appliance, you must enroll them in Synergis™ Appliance Portal.

What you should know

From the perspective of the Synergis™ Cloud Link appliance, also called Synergis™ unit, the Synergis™ IX controller acts as the interface module for the expander modules further downstream.

For more information on using Synergis™ Appliance Portal, see the Synergis™ Appliance Configuration Guide.

  1. Log on to the Synergis™ unit.
  2. Click on Configuration > Hardware.
NOTE: Cloning is not supported for Synergis™ IX controllers. Downstream modules connected to Synergis™ IX controllers cannot be configured from Synergis™ Appliance Portal. They must be configured from Synergis™ IX Portal.
  3. At the top of the Hardware column, click .
  4. In the Add hardware dialog box, set Hardware type to Synergis™ IX and enter the rest of the module properties.
Leave the field HTTPS public key blank. This field is automatically filled after Synergis™ Cloud Link connects to the Synergis™ IX controller.
Best Practice: Ensure that the Unit name matches the name given to the controller in Synergis™ IX Portal.
  5. Click Save.
The hardware type, channel and interface module you added are displayed in the hardware tree.
