Use the HID Reader Manager app to configure HID Signo readers for OSDP install mode.

Before you begin

Download and install the HID Reader Manager mobile app on your mobile device.

Procedure

  1. Open the HID Reader Manager app on your mobile device.
  2. Find your readers, select the entry side reader and click Inspect.

  3. In the Inspection Report page, click Detailed Configuration and power cycle your reader.

  4. In the Inspection Report page, click Communication Protocol, enable OSDP, V2 compliance, set the Address to 00, turn on Install Mode and Secure Mode, and set the reader baud rate.

  5. Click Add to the template > Apply Selected Items to apply the new settings.

  6. Power cycle your reader.
    The reader LED turns off, indicating that the reader is in install mode.

    Troubleshooting: If the reader LED does not turn off, click Apply Selected Items again, or close the app and start over.
  7. Repeat the same procedure with the exit side reader, setting its Address to 01.

  8. Exit the mobile app to end the connection.

Results

Once the OSDP reader has been successfully paired with the Synergis™ IX module, the reader install mode switches off while the secure mode remains active.
