Configuring antipassback for Synergis IX controllers - Australia and New Zealand only

To use antipassback with Synergis™ IX, you must configure secured areas and intrusion detection areas in Config Tool.

1. From the Config Tool homepage, open the Area view task.
2. Link an intrusion detection area to a secured area:
   1. From the entity tree, select an intrusion detection area, and click the Properties tab.
   2. In the General section, select an area from the Secured area list.
      NOTE: A given secured area can only be assigned to one intrusion detection area. If all existing secured areas are assigned, create one. Secured areas must have perimeters doors controlled by Synergis IX controllers.
   3. Click Apply.
3. Configure the antipassback settings on the secured area:
   1. From the entity tree, select the secured area that is linked to the intrusion detection area, and click the Advanced tab.
   2. In the Antipassback section, turn the Status to ON, and configure the following settings:

      Schedule

      Select Always if you want antipassback to be applied at all times.

      Type

      Type of antipassback to apply.

      Soft

      Soft antipassback only logs the passback events in the database. It does not restrict the door from being unlocked due to the passback event.

      Hard

      Hard antipassback logs the passback event in the database and prevents the door from being unlocked due to the passback event.

      Presence timeout

      Set how many minutes a cardholder’s presence in the area is remembered for the purpose of passback detection (not used for counting people). Past that period, a cardholder who never left the area can re-enter without triggering a passback event. The default value of zero (0) minutes means that a cardholder's presence never times out.

   3. Click Apply.
