To configure the Synergis™ IX controller to use OSDP readers, you must first configure the reader ports in the Synergis™ IX Portal.

1. Click Expanders > Reader Expanders > General.
2. Select a reader expander or the onboard reader, depending on where OSDP readers are connected.
3. Select OSDP as the Port Network Type and click Save ().
   The following example shows Onboard Reader Port 2 configured for OSDP:

   
   In Security Center, the Synergis IX unit restarts, and two OSDP smart readers are automatically added. In the following example, Reader Port 2 and Reader Port 2 Out are created after Port 2 Network Type is set to OSDP.
