As part of the Synergis™ IX controller configuration for using OSDP readers, you must configure the smart reader records in the Synergis IX Portal.

Procedure

  1. Click Expanders > Smart Readers.
  2. If necessary, edit the smart reader Name to clearly identify the OSDP reader it represents.
The Expander Address is automatically configured to the Physical Address of the reader expander this OSDP smart reader is associated with, and cannot be changed.

The Expander Port is automatically configured to the reader port this OSDP smart reader is associated with, and cannot be changed.

  3. Set the Configured Address to the OSDP reader address + 1.
The supported OSDP reader address range is from 0 to 127. Because it is not possible to assign an address of 0 in the user interface, 1 is deducted from the Configured Address to calculate the reader's OSDP address.

The following example shows the smart reader records for Onboard Reader. In Synergis IX Portal, the Entry Side reader address is configured as 1 and the Exit Side reader address is configured as 2.

For HID Signo readers, the address is configured using the HID mobile app. Address 00 for the entry side reader and 01 for the exit side reader.

  4. Click the Reader tab and set the Reader Format to Custom Credential.
NOTE: All credential lengths up to 64-bits work with the Custom Credential option enabled.
  5. Set the Reader Location to Entry or Exit.
  6. Set the Reader Door to the door that this OSDP reader controls.
NOTE: A warning is displayed saying the door is already assigned to a reader. You can ignore it.

  7. Click Save.
