For Synergis™ IX controllers to function optimally, follow the required configuration for two-door controllers, and consider the configuration limitations of the door's Hardware page in Config Tool.

Configuration requirements for Synergis IX two-door controllers

When configuring the Synergis IX two-door controller, there are specific instructions to follow.

  • You cannot use the I/Os of one port and the reader of another port for a given door. If there’s an input, output, or reader assignment error, the reader LED flashes continuously.
  • You must use the following configuration:
    • Door 1 must use the reader port 1 and output 1 as door lock, and inputs 1 - 4 for REX and door sensor.
    • Door 2 must use the reader port 2 and output 2 as door lock, and inputs 5 - 8 for REX and door sensor.

Door wiring limitations for Synergis IX

Consider the following when configuring the Door side sections of doors in Config Tool:
  • Configuring an entry sensor for door sides isn’t supported.
  • The REX (request to exit) configured on Door side In of a door in Config Tool is mapped to the REN (request to enter) input in Synergis IX.
  • When the REX configured on Door side In is activated, it triggers the Request to exit event in Security Desk, but is considered Unlocked by REN in Synergis IX.
  • When the Lock out REX when inside area armed option is enabled on the Synergis IX page of the door in Config Tool, only the REX configured on Door side Out is locked out.
Consider the following when configuring the Additional connections section of doors in Config Tool:
  • Lock sensor, manual station, and buzzer as additional connections only work when Synergis Softwire is online.
  • Only one lock sensor is supported as an additional connection.
  • Only one door lock is supported as an additional connection.
  • Configuring a REX as an additional connection isn’t supported.
