You can create a macro to run a configuration in the Synergis™ IX backup task. This macro can run either manually or on a schedule.

What you should know

The macro is created using a text file that comes with the installation of the Synergis IX extension. This macro generates two custom events that can be used to track the status of your backup operations:
  • Synergis IX: Scheduled backups failed
  • Synergis IX: Scheduled backups succeeded

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool homepage, select the System task and click Macros.
  2. Click Macro () and enter a name for the new macro.
  3. Click the Properties tab.
  4. Click Import from file.
  5. In the dialog box, select ScheduledBackupsMacro.txt.
IMPORTANT: The folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Genetec Security Center 5.x\Add-On\Macros should be open by default in the dialog box. If a different folder appears or if ScheduledBackupsMacro.txt is missing, ensure you have installed the Synergis IX intrusion extension 3.2.0 or later.
  6. Click Apply ().
  7. Click the Default context execution tab and select an Intrusion Manager role from the drop-down.
  8. Click Ok.
  9. Click Apply ().
You have created a macro to back up a set of Synergis IX controllers.
