You can create a macro to run a configuration in the Synergis™ IX
backup task. This macro can run either manually or on a schedule.
What you should know
The macro is created using a text file that comes with the installation of the Synergis
IX extension. This macro generates two custom events that can be used to track the status of
your backup operations:
-
Synergis IX: Scheduled backups failed
-
Synergis IX: Scheduled backups succeeded
Procedure
-
From the Config Tool homepage, select the System task and click
Macros.
-
Click Macro (
) and
enter a name for the new macro.
-
Click the Properties tab.
-
Click Import from file.
-
In the dialog box, select ScheduledBackupsMacro.txt.
IMPORTANT: The folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Genetec Security Center
5.x\Add-On\Macros should be open by default in the dialog box. If a
different folder appears or if ScheduledBackupsMacro.txt is
missing, ensure you have installed the Synergis IX
intrusion extension 3.2.0 or later.

).
-
Click the Default context execution tab and select an Intrusion
Manager role from the drop-down.
-
Click Ok.

You have created a macro to back up a set of Synergis IX
controllers.
