You can export the Synergis™ IX backup task configurations and import them on different servers. This simplifies the configuration of Synergis™ IX controller backups on secondary Intrusion Manager servers used for failover.
What you should know
- The configuration file includes the IP address, the scheduled backup location, the number of backups to keep, and the user name of each controller.
- Passwords are not exported.
- The configuration files are encrypted and bound to the computer on which they are saved. Any user with computer access can access the Synergis™ IX backup task.
- Manually reconfigure Synergis IX controllers in the Synergis™ IX
backup task when the following occurs:
- The Synergis IX controller password or IP address changes.
- Synergis IX controllers are added or removed from the system.
About importing backup configuration files:
- The current configuration in the Synergis™ IX backup task is overwritten.
- After importing a configuration file, you must add a password to each imported controller before it can be backed up.
