You can export the Synergis™ IX backup task configurations and import them on different servers. This simplifies the configuration of Synergis™ IX controller backups on secondary Intrusion Manager servers used for failover.

What you should know

About exporting backup configuration files:
  • The configuration file includes the IP address, the scheduled backup location, the number of backups to keep, and the user name of each controller.
  • Passwords are not exported.
  • The configuration files are encrypted and bound to the computer on which they are saved. Any user with computer access can access the Synergis™ IX backup task.
  • Manually reconfigure Synergis IX controllers in the Synergis™ IX backup task when the following occurs:
    • The Synergis IX controller password or IP address changes.
    • Synergis IX controllers are added or removed from the system.
About importing backup configuration files:
  • The current configuration in the Synergis™ IX backup task is overwritten.
  • After importing a configuration file, you must add a password to each imported controller before it can be backed up.
