In the Synergis™ Appliance Portal, you can schedule automatic backups of all the Synergis™ IX controllers connected to a Synergis™ Cloud Link unit.

What you should know

  • Your Synergis Cloud Link unit must be running Synergis Cloud Link 3.1.0 or later. The legacy Synergis Cloud Link unit does not support this feature.
  • Scheduled backups are enabled by default, and configured to run daily from 2:00 am to 5:00 am local time as long as the Synergis Cloud Link unit is connected to the Access Manager role. If the Synergis Cloud Link unit is disconnected from the Access Manager role, the backup runs at the configured time in UTC.
  • If an automatic backup starts, and the Synergis IX unit is disconnected, the backup is completed only if the unit reconnects before the configured end time.
  • The Synergis Cloud Link unit only stores the two latest backup files per Synergis IX controller.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Synergis Cloud Link unit.
  2. Click Configuration > Synergis IX controller settings.
  3. In the Unit backup control section, configure the following:
    Activate scheduled backup
    The setting is enabled by default. Ensure that this option is selected in case it was changed.
    Automatic unit backup schedule
    Select whether you want the backup to run Daily or Weekly.
    Start backup period (HH:MM)
    Select a time for the backup to start.
    End backup period (HH:MM)
    Select a time for the backup to end.

  4. Click Save.

Results

At the scheduled start time, a backup of all the Synergis IX units enrolled under the Synergis Cloud Link unit is generated. The backup files are found in the Synergis Appliance Portal by clicking Maintenance > Download Synergis IX backup.
