Starting in Synergis™ Softwire 11.2.0, Synergis™ IX controller firmware older than 4.00.649_L1C3 is no longer supported. Synergis IX units running these older firmwares cannot connect to Synergis Softwire. There are different upgrade paths to follow, depending on the versions you are upgrading from.

Procedure

To upgrade a Synergis IX unit running firmware 649 or later:

  1. Download Synergis IX firmware 864 or later from the GTAP Product Download page.
  2. From the Synergis Appliance Portal, upgrade the firmware on the Synergis IX unit.

To upgrade a Synergis IX unit running firmware 455 and earlier with Synergis Softwire 11.1 or earlier:

  1. Download Synergis IX firmware 864 or later from the GTAP Product Download page.
  2. From the Synergis Appliance Portal, upgrade the firmware on the Synergis IX unit.
  3. Upgrade the Synergis™ Cloud Link unit to the latest version of Synergis Softwire.

To upgrade a Synergis IX unit running firmware 455 and earlier with Synergis Softwire 11.2 or later:

  1. Download Synergis IX firmware 864 or later from the GTAP Product Download page.
  2. Using a file extraction tool, such as 7-Zip, extract the files from the Synergis IX .sfw file that you downloaded.
  3. Search in the extracted folder for the Synergis IX controller firmware file with the .fmw extension.
  4. From the Synergis™ IX Portal, upgrade the firmware on the Synergis IX unit.
