The Synergis™ IX backup task simplifies replacement and reconfiguration of Synergis™ IX controllers. You can create and manage all your controller configuration backups in one place.

Requirements

The following are required to use the Synergis™ IX backup task:
  • Synergis™ IX controllers running 4.00.1143_M036 or later
  • Synergis IX intrusion extension 3.2.0 or later
  • Security Center 5.8 or later

How it works

You can open the Synergis™ IX backup task from the Administration section of the Tasks page in Config Tool.

In the Synergis™ IX backup task you can:
  • Select the Synergis IX controllers to back up
  • Run manual backups
  • Schedule automatic backups
  • Specify where to save backups
  • Configure the number of automatic backups kept for each controller
  • Export and import backup configurations between different computers

About backup files and error logs

Successful and failed backups are tracked per Synergis IX controller in the Manual backup status and Scheduled backup status columns in the Synergis IX backup list. One folder per controller is created in the configured backup location.

For automatic backups, the Backups per controller option defines the number of backups kept in a folder associated with a Synergis IX controller.

Errors from the Synergis IX controller backup processes can be viewed in Server Admin.
