Starting in Synergis™ IX firmware 4.00.1505_N1A3, when you navigate to System > Settings > Adaptor - USB Ethernet in the Synergis™ IX Portal, cellular communication settings can be configured, even though they aren’t supported.

On the Adaptor - USB Ethernet page, selecting the Enable USB Ethernet option displays other options related to the DIN Rail Cellular Modem (SY-SIX-4G-USB), a device that Genetec Inc. does not support. In the Connection section, the Cellular Modem checkbox is selected and cannot be disabled, even though no DIN Rail Cellular Modem is connected.

Cause

Unused UI was published, making it look like features are supported, when Genetec doesn’t support the DIN Rail Cellular Modem (SY-SIX-4G-USB) for Synergis IX.

Workaround

Ignore the cellular communication settings in the Synergis IX Portal. There are currently no plans to support the DIN Rail Cellular Modem with Synergis IX.
