Upgrading Synergis appliances with production image 3.x - Synergis Softwire 11.5.2

The Synergis™ Softwire upgrade path that you must follow depends on the 3.x image on your Synergis™ appliance.

To upgrade a Synergis appliance that has production images 3.8 or 3.7:

1. Upgrade to Synergis Softwire 10.11.
2. Apply Service stack 20190923.
3. Upgrade to Synergis Softwire 11.3.
4. Upgrade the Framework runtime environment to .NET 4.7.2.
5. Upgrade to Synergis Softwire 11.5.

To upgrade a Synergis appliance that has production images 3.6 or 3.5:

1. Upgrade to Synergis Softwire 10.7.
2. Upgrade to Synergis Softwire 10.11.
3. Apply Service stack 20190923.
4. Upgrade to Synergis Softwire 11.3.
5. Upgrade the Framework runtime environment to .NET 4.7.2.
6. Upgrade to Synergis Softwire 11.5.

To upgrade a Synergis appliance that has production images 3.4, 3.3, 3.2, 3.1, or 3.0:

1. Upgrade to Synergis Softwire 10.7.
2. Apply Management framework 5.1.
3. Upgrade to Synergis Softwire 10.11.
4. Apply Service stack 20190923.
5. Upgrade to Synergis Softwire 11.3.
6. Upgrade the Framework runtime environment to .NET 4.7.2.
7. Upgrade to Synergis Softwire 11.5.

To verify that the Management framework, Service stack, and Framework runtime environment were updated correctly:

1. From Synergis™ Appliance Portal, click Maintenance > System status > Unit.
2. Verify that the following components are installed on your Synergis appliance:

   Runtime environment

   Framework 4.7.2

   Platform component updates

   • Management framework 5.1
   • Service stack 20190923
   • (Optional) Latest cumulative security rollup

   Example: The order in which the unit information is listed varies depending on the version of Synergis Softwire you are using.
