For Security Center to communicate with a Traka system, you must provide the URL of the Traka Integration Engine and specify
the communications ports.
What you should know
Communication between the plugin and
the Traka system does not protect the integrity and confidentiality of
data. As a best practice, deploy the plugin on the same
subnet as the third-party Traka system, within a closed
network.
Procedure
-
In Config
Tool, open the Traka Asset Management plugin role.
-
In the Plugins task, select the plugin role from the
entity browser, and click the Properties tab.
-
Configure the following:
- URL
- The Web address for the Traka Integration Engine. This URL contains the host name of
the computer that hosts the Traka Integration Engine Service and the communication port
number. The default port number is 10700. A URL that contains the server's IP address is
invalid and won't work. Example:
http://MyTrakaServerHostname:10700/
- Plugin host
- The IP address or host name of the Security Center server that hosts the Traka Asset Management plugin role. If the Traka system and plugin server are in
different IP networks, enter the public-facing address.
The following images
provide examples of how you might set the plugin host when the Security Center plugin role and the Traka system are in the same network, and when they are in different
networks.
- Events port
- The port number used by the Traka Integration Engine Service to send events over
the IP network. This port number is different from the port referred to in the URL.
The default is 10800.
- Time zone
- The time zone from which Security Center
receives events. This must match the time zone setting of the system that is running
the Traka Integration Engine Service.
NOTE: By default, the time zone is set to
match the directory server.
-
Click Apply.
-
Click Test connection to confirm that
the plugin role can communicate with the Traka Integration Engine.
-
If you get a message that the plugin is unable to communicate with the Traka Integration Engine, do the following:
-
Deactivate the plugin role.
-
Activate the plugin role.
-
Wait a few minutes, then test the connection again.
