You can push Security Center cardholders onto the Advisor Master and Advisor Advanced intrusion panels to create panel users.

What you should know

On an x500 series panel, a 10-second delay occurs when cardholders are pushed to the panel, and after the push is complete. During these delays, commands can not be sent to the panel, and the panel can not be monitored.

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool home page, open the Intrusion detection task.
  2. Expand the Intrusion Manager role from the entity browser, and then select the intrusion panel you want to configure.
  3. Click the Users tab.
  4. In the User mappings table, click Select cardholder in an empty user slot.
  5. Select a cardholder in the dialog box that opens.
NOTE: A cardholder can be assigned to a single slot. If you select a cardholder that is already mapped to an intrusion panel user, that mapped user is deleted from its current user slot, and then added to the new user slot during synchronization. The previous user slot is left empty.
The new user is displayed in the user mappings table.
  6. Click OK.
  7. (Optional) Configure the following panel-specific settings:
    User groups
Indicates which group or groups on the panel the user is part of.
    Language
Defines the language of the menus presented to the cardholder at the module.
    Use extended shunt time
Grants the cardholder an extended access period after presenting a valid card or entering a valid PIN.
    Mode
Grants the cardholder control over intrusion areas, groups, or both.
    Trace
Logs access events linked to the cardholder.
    Privileged
Grants the user the privilege to override antipassback settings on the panel, and access restricted intrusion detection areas.
    User type
Defines the panel user as being one of the following types:
    • Normal: Functions normally
    • Two-cards: Two card swipes or user codes are required to perform alarm or access-control functions.
    • Guard: The card or code only works with that of a Visitor.
    • Visitor: The card or code only works with that of a Guard.
    • High security user: Makes the user a high-security user. High-security users are required for granting normal cardholders access to security areas on panels.
    Door groups
Defines which door groups the panel user can access.
The settings to configure may vary based on the panel to which you are pushing cardholders.
  8. Click Apply.
If the synchronization strategy is set to Manual, you must click Push to panel for the user to be added to the panel.
