In Security Center, you can define rules for arming and disarming an area when a cardholder presents an access key or badge at a door reader.

What you should know

You cannot define multiple swipes for arming and disarming on the same reader.

Procedure

To define the rules for arming and disarming areas:

  1. From the Config Tool homepage, open the Intrusion detection task.
  2. Expand the Intrusion Manager role from the entity browser, and then select the intrusion detection unit you want to configure.
  3. Click the Areas tab, and then select an area from the list.

To define the rules for arming an area:

  1. In the Badging section, move the Armed slider to ON.
  2. Under Badging requirements, enter the number of card swipes required to arm the door.
  3. Enter the amount of time in seconds allowed for each card swipe.
  4. In the Manage cardholders / doors section, expand the Arm section.
  5. Right-click Doors, click Add doors, and then select the door or doors you want to use to arm the area.
  6. Right-click Cardholders, click Add cardholders, and then select one or more cardholders.

To define the rules for disarming an area:

  1. In the Badging section, move the Disarmed slider to ON.
  2. Under Badging requirements, enter the number of card swipes required to disarm the door.
  3. Enter the amount of time in seconds allowed for each card swipe.
  4. In the Manage cardholders / doors section, expand the Disarm section.
  5. Right-click Doors, click Add doors, and then select the door or doors you want to use to disarm the area.
  6. Right-click Cardholders, click Add cardholders, and then select one or more cardholders.

Example

When the area arming is set to 2 swipes and 5 seconds, then a specified cardholder must swipe their access key twice at the door within 10 seconds to arm the area.

When the area disarming is set to 3 swipes and 2 seconds, then a specified cardholder must swipe their access key three times at the door within 6 seconds to disarm the area.
