For Security Center 5.11 and earlier, if you want to use event-to-actions to automatically change the reader modes defined by the DoorInReaderType and DoorOutReaderType custom fields, you must create the Macro_Set_Door_PIV macro.

Before you begin

  • If you are using Security Center 5.12 or later, you do not need to configure the macro. You can change directly the assurance profile assigned to the pivCLASS readers with the Set reader mode action.
  • Create the DoorInReaderType and DoorOutReaderType custom fields.
  • Learn which reader modes correspond to the values for the DoorInReaderType and DoorOutReaderType custom fields.

What you should know

The Macro_Set_Door_PIV macro is included in the Security Center installation folder starting in 5.10. The default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Genetec Security Center 5.X\Add-On\Macros.

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool homepage, open the System task, and click the Macros view.
  2. Click Macro (), and enter a name for the macro.
  3. Click the Properties tab.
  4. Click Import from file, and navigate to the Macro_Set_Door_PIV.cs file in the Security Center installation folder.
The default path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Genetec Security Center 5.x\Add-On\Macros.
  5. Click Open.
The contents of the file are displayed on the Properties page of the macro.
  6. Click Apply.
  7. Click the Default execution context tab, and then configure the following:
    DoorEntity
The door for which you want the custom field value to change.
    SetDoorInReaderType
Turn this option on if you want to change the value of the DoorInReaderType custom field.
    SetDoorOutReaderType
Turn this option on if you want to change the value of the DoorOutReaderType custom field.
    Value
The value corresponding to the reader mode you want the door to use.
  8. Click Apply.

After you finish

Create event-to-actions using the Run a macro action with the Macro_Set_Door_PIV macro selected.
