Our Technical Support team can use your performance data logs to troubleshoot issues related to your hardware and system resources. You can find these logs in the Windows Performance Monitor.

Procedure

  1. Open Windows Performance Monitor.
  2. Expand the Data Collector Sets folder, and then expand the User Defined folder.
The Windows Performance Monitor app showing the User Defined folder expanded to display Genetec logs.
  3. (Recommended) Change the log output folder:
    1. Right-click the log and select Properties.
    2. Click the Directory tab, and then click Browse in the Root directory field to change the default file location.
Some logs can take up considerable space. To avoid issues with your system's performance or hard drive storage, it is recommended to save your log files somewhere other than your C: drive or anywhere recordings are stored.
    3. Click OK.
  4. Select the Genetec - General log.
  5. Click Start the data collector set ().
  6. Repeat steps 3 - 5 for any other logs that you need, as specified by Technical Support.
  7. After logging the issue, click Stop the data collector set () for each log that you started.
  8. Retrieve your log files and send them to Technical Support.
