An access rule is a type of entity that defines a list of cardholders to whom access is either granted or denied based on a schedule.

Two types of access rules that can be applied to deister proxSafe assets:
Security Center access rules
To provide or deny cardholder access to deister proxSafe assets. For more information, see the Security Center Administrator Guide.
Deister access rules
To apply rules to cardholders when they are in possession of a deister proxSafe asset. For example, to avoid cardholders leaving the building while in possession of an asset, create and apply an access denied Deister access rule for the asset and apply it to doors that serve as exits. For more information, see Creating Deister access rules.

When an access rule is applied to a deister proxSafe asset, and then applied to a cardholder profile, the cardholder profile is sent to the deister Commander system.
