To synchronize information between Security Center and the deister proxSafe system, you must connect the plugin to deister Commander.

Before you begin

  • Create the plugin role.
  • You must have users with administrator-level privileges in the deister Commander system.
  • Know the deister Commander server name, database name, username, and password to enable the connection with Security Center.
  • Schedule database backups and cleanups.
  • Back up your deister Commander database. For more information, see the documentation that came with your deister System.
  • Enable a secure HTTPS connection between Security Center and deister commander by installing the required certificate.
IMPORTANT: For security purposes, connect the plugin to deister Commander over HTTPS. Otherwise, the configurations of the plugin, PINs, and cards are sent in clear text to deister Commander.

What you should know

  • Lockers, terminals, assets, and asset groups are imported to Security Center when you connect to deister Commander.
  • Cardholders are not imported from deister Commander to Security Center. All deister users must be pushed from the plugin for this integration to work properly.
IMPORTANT: The initial enrollment process removes all existing deister users from cabinets managed by deister Commander, which can cause disruptions in key cabinet accessibility. Export existing users from the deister system and import them into Security Center before proceeding.
  • Add deister Commander and cabinets to Security Center without existing users aside from the administrator account. If there are many users in the deister system, it can take a long time to remove them, which extends the time that the cabinets are offline.
  • If an asset is added in deister Commander, you must perform a manual synchronization to have it displayed in Security Center. For more information, see Synchronizing Security Center and deister Commander.
  • You cannot connect multiple deister proxSafe plugin roles to the same deister Commander system.

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool home page, open the Plugins task.
  2. In the Plugins task, select the plugin role from the entity browser, and click the Properties tab.
