[KBA-79134] Archives task and "Go to specific time" dialog box show fewer video entries than expected

In Security Desk, when you search for video in the Archives task or the "Go to specific time" option in the camera widget, not all video entries are shown for the configured archive retention period. This prevents users from playing back older video.

The video entries that cannot be viewed from Security Desk remain on the storage disk; However, for those video entries the bookmarks, video analytic events, motion events, and custom events stored on the Archiver database from SDK applications are lost.
NOTE: Video files that were protected are still protected.

Applies to

Security Center 5.11.0.0

Cause

A coding issue.

Workaround

If any of your servers are running Security Center 5.11.0.0, configure all cameras to inherit the retention period from Automatic cleanup setting of the Archiver role.

For instructions about how to restore access to the affected video, contact the Genetec™ Technical Assistance Center.
CAUTION:
After recovering playback video, the following occurs:
  • Video that was blocked is no longer blocked. You must block the video again.
  • Bookmarks are lost and must be re-added manually.

Status

This issue is resolved in Security Center in 5.11.0.1 and 5.11.1.0.
