[KBA-79152] Cannot enroll a Synergis IX unit with a space in its name
When enrolling a Synergis™ IX unit with a space in its name on a Synergis™ appliance that is running Synergis™ Softwire 11.4.2 or Synergis™ Cloud Link 3.0.0, an error occurs.
Depending on where you try enrolling a Synergis IX unit with a space in its name, the
following occurs:
- In Config Tool, you get an error.
- In the Synergis™ Appliance Portal, nothing happens.
After upgrading to Synergis Softwire 11.4.2 or Synergis Cloud Link 3.0.0, previously enrolled Synergis IX units that have a space in their name remain online and functional. However, there is a Forbidden: Access denied. error message on the Hardware page of the Synergis Appliance Portal.
Applies to
Synergis Softwire 11.4.2 and Synergis Cloud Link 3.0.0
Cause
A code defect.
Workaround
Depending on when the Synergis IX unit is enrolled, the workaround for this issue changes:
- Synergis IX units enrolled on a Synergis appliance running Synergis Softwire 11.4.2 or Synergis Cloud Link 3.0.0: Remove any spaces from the unit’s name.
- Synergis IX units enrolled on a Synergis appliance before upgrading to Synergis Softwire 11.4.2 or Synergis Cloud Link 3.0.0: A hotfix will be released to resolve the issue.
Status
This issue will be resolved in Synergis Softwire 11.5.0 and Synergis Cloud Link 3.1.0.
