So that a Honeywell Galaxy intrusion panel can communicate with Security Center, the panel must be configured for remote access over Ethernet. This configuration can be done locally by using the panel's keypad or remotely by using the Honeywell Galaxy Remote Servicing Suite (RSS).

Before you begin

Make sure your control panels are functioning properly and have an Ethernet module installed.

What you should know

For detailed information about setting up a panel and configuring it for remote communication, refer to your panel's Installer Manual and the GX Remote Control User Manual, which you can download from http://www.honeywellvideosystems.com/.

Tip: If you have the Galaxy RSS software, you can use it instead of the keypad to prepare the panel remotely from a computer.

Procedure

  1. Enter engineer mode.
    1. On the panel’s keypad, enter the manager user code (for example: 12345), and then press ent twice.
    2. Press 48 ent 1 ent 1 ent 1 ent.
    3. Enter the engineer code (default is 112233), and then press ent.
    If you need to return to the home screen, press escape.
  2. Secure your system by replacing the default remote user code:
    1. Go to menu 42.1 (USER CODES) and press ent.
    2. Use the A and B keys to go through the user codes.
    By default, the remote user code is named REMOTE, its PIN is 543210, and its user level is 3.8. The new PIN must be a unique four, five, or six digit number.
    1. When you find the remote user code, press ent, and then press 1 (Modify PIN).
    2. Enter a unique four, five, or six digit number, and press ent to save.
    3. Take note of the new remote user code PIN to use later when you configure the extension in Security Center.
  3. Configure the Ethernet module's connection settings:
    1. Go to menu 56.4.01.1 (IP ADDRESS), enter an IP address for the panel, and then press ent.
    2. Go to menu 56.4.01.3 (GATEWAY IP), enter the IP address of the network gateway, and then press ent.
    3. Go to menu 56.4.01.4 (NETWORK MASK), enter the network mask, and then press ent.
  4. Turn on all events and alarms: Go to menu 56.4.02 (ALARM REPORTING), press 1 (FORMAT), press 1 (SIA), choose level 4, and then press 1 (TRIGGER EVENTS), press 1 (STATUS), for each alarm in the menu, press 1 to set it to ON, and press ent to save.
  5. Go to menu 56.4.02.2.1 (IP ADDRESS), enter the IP address of the Security Center server that hosts the Honeywell Galaxy intrusion panel extension, and then press ent.
  6. Go to menu 56.4.02.2.2 (PORT NO.), set the port that will be used for the events (suggested port is 10002), and then press ent.
  7. Go to menu 56.4.02.5 (RECEIVER), press 1 to set the Receiver to Single, and then press ent.
  8. Go to menu 56.4.02.8 (PROTOCOL), press 1 to set the Protocol to TCP, and then press ent.
  9. Go to menu 56.4.03.1 (ACCESS PERIOD), press 4 to set the Access Period to Any Time, and then press ent.
  10. Go to menu 56.4.03.2 (MODE), press 1 to set the Mode to Direct access, and then press ent.
  11. Go to menu 56.4.07.1 (NETWORK), press 1 to set the Network to Available, and then press ent
  12. Go to menu 56.4.07.2 (SIGNAL PATH), press 1 to set the Signal path to Primary, and then press ent.
  13. Go to menu 56.4.08 (SIA CONTROL), enter the IP address of the Security Center server that hosts the Honeywell Galaxy intrusion panel extension, and then press ent.
  14. Go to menu 56.4.09 (ENCRYPT), for each element in the Encrypt menu, press 0 to set them to OFF, and press ent to save.
  15. Go to menu 51 (PARAMETERS), press 09 (OMIT ALL), press 1 to enable it, and then press ent to save.
  16. Go to menu 63.1 (GROUPS), press 1 (GROUP MODE), press 1 to enable groups, press ent to save, and then return to the Engineer Mode banner for groups to be fully enabled.
  17. Exit engineer mode:
    1. From the home screen banner, enter the engineer code (Default: 112233), and press escape.

After you finish

  • Repeat this procedure for each intrusion panel that you want to monitor in Security Center.
  • Install the Honeywell Galaxy intrusion panel extension.
